My client wanted to stay blonde so asked me for a full head of foils and a good cut.
I mixed up three different colours; a light blonde, a slightly darker blonde and a medium brown. The two different shades of blonde will lighten the hair but keep it looking natural and the medium brown will break the colour up to keep it looking highlighted and avoid it becoming a block colour.
Once the colours were mixed up I sectioned the hair and placed the foils in. When the colour had taken I carefully removed the foils before rinsing the hair. I then shampooed and conditioned the hair.
Before cutting the hair I sprayed it with a thermal protector to prevent heat damage from the hair dryer and the straighteners. I also used a leave in oil to nourish the hair. I cut in the layers and took a few inches off the length. Next I dried and straightened the hair and feathered the front section. The feathering gives a soft finish to the style. I then point cut into the layers slightly as my client has a lot of hair so I wanted to thin it out in areas to make it more manageable for her. To finish I used a styling crème which ensures the hair sits nicely and smoothly without any static or ‘fly away’ pieces.
